SPARKS, Nev., June 8, 2005 – Peter Gunnerman has been appointed president and chief operating officer of SulphCo, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SLPH), the company announced. Peter Gunnerman is the son of Dr. Rudolf W. Gunnerman, chairman of SulphCo.

Most recently, Gunnerman headed Global 6, LLC, a consulting company he founded in 2004 that assists national and international technology companies with a variety of business functions, including marketing and financial support. SulphCo has been a client of Global 6 since January 2005.

Gunnerman spent the majority of his career with Clean Fuels Technology, Inc., which he co-founded with Dr. Rudolf W. Gunnerman. His last position at the company, which develops and markets emulsified fuels, was serving as president of its Residual Oil Division, where he was responsible for product development and product verification testing at domestic and foreign trial sites.

“I think that the Board of Directors has made a wise decision by unanimously approving Peter as president and chief operating officer of SulphCo,” said Rudolf W. SulphCo has developed the patented Sonocracking™ high-powered ultrasound process to upgrade sour heavy crude oils into sweeter lighter crudes. SulphCo’s ultrasound process increases the distillate yield while at the same time reducing sulfur and nitrogen content, producing more usable oil per barrel of crude.

Gunnerman graduated from the University of Oregon with degrees in history and German. Fluent in German, he spent a year during his studies at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. He has authored and co-authored several papers on emulsified fuels.
