SulphCo(R), Announces Third Interim Progress Report on its Sonocracking(TM) Facility in the UAE

SPARKS, Nev., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SulphCo(R), Inc. SUF announced today an interim progress report on its 210,000 barrel per day crude oil processing plant in the UAE.

The Board of Fujairah Oil Technology, Inc., the joint venture between SulphCo(R), Inc. and Fujairah government owned Trans Gulf Petroleum, met in Fujairah, UAE on Sunday, September 24, 2006 to review the progress of the Sonocracking project currently under construction in the UAE.

Vera Group, the current project contractor, has been chosen by FOT to supply the raw materials and construct the pipeline that will lead to and from the current crude oil storage facility at the refining complex to the SulphCo(R), facility. The length of the above-ground pipeline will be approximately 1500 meters each way. The first delivery of pipes has arrived on the site with subsequent deliveries of both pipe and pipe stands to follow in the coming weeks.

SulphCo(R), Inc. management met with representatives of Vera Group for an update on construction progress at the facility. As the overall construction project is currently behind schedule a new construction plan was adopted that is designed to speed progress through a redefinition of construction priorities and the use of further third party contractors to speed completion of specific construction jobs. The main building which will house the Sonocracking units is substantially finished. The administration and security buildings are finished as are the required on-site storage tanks. The foundations for the chiller and hydraulic units are completed and these units are on the job site. Nine containers of Sonocracking equipment have been transferred from the Jebel Ali Port in Dubai to the Port of Fujairah and will be delivered to the job site this week. The remaining containers will be transferred to the job site by the middle of the month. Electrical power supply, both installation of the transformers and electrical work inside of the main and secondary buildings as well as easement paving were identified as near term construction priorities.

Other project priorities in the coming weeks include finalizing an equipment commissioning schedule with NTG as well as finalizing a personnel training schedule. The company is also progressing positively with the government of Fujairah as well as with third parties in securing crude oil supply and sales relationships.

"While the facility construction delays we have experienced to date are unfortunate, these delays are in no way technology or systems related," said Peter Gunnerman, President of SulphCo(R), Inc. "Our company is continuing to shore up deficiencies as efficiently as possible to achieve our target of commencing operations before year-end.

While in Fujairah, SulphCo(R), management also met again with officials from the Port of Fujairah to coordinate petroleum supply and delivery logistics.

Testing of ultrasonic probes for output, repeatability and longevity continues daily at the SulphCo facility in Sparks, Nevada. The testing continues to show positive results in all categories of evaluation.

SulphCo(R), Inc. will continue to provide updates on the Fujairah project through further reports and pictures posted on its web site http://www.sulphco.com.
