ChevronTexaco and SulphCo, Inc. to Collaborate on New Ultrasound Technology to Upgrade Sour Crude Oil SPARKS, Nev., August 9, 2004 –SulphCo, Inc. (OTCBB: SLPH) today announced that it has signed a Collaboration Agreement with ChevronTexaco Energy Technology Co., a unit of ChevronTexaco Corp., to further evaluate and develop SulphCo, Inc.¡¯s ultrasound technology.
SulphCo¡¯s technology is designed to use high power ultrasound to upgrade sour crude oil and other petroleum streams at low pressure and low temperature. Recent work has been directed toward desulfurization and upgrading of crude oil. It is anticipated that the technology could have both Upstream and Downstream applications.
